just give me a reason.
i'm always in awe every time i realize that things happen for a reason; it's really so heartwarming to see His hand at work in my life :')) spent my Labour Day working (irony much) and lunch break was staggered. i think they somehow left me out of the rotation D:
a customer left a bag from J's area at my area, and i passed it to him after he came back from his lunch.
J: have you eaten?
me: nope, damn hungryyyy.
J: huh! go tell them you haven't had break! come lets go.
J: (to the IC) she hasn't had lunch.
IC: ohh, come!
there were only 2 packets of food left, and I saw the IC eating at 6-ish. which means... if not for J, i wouldn't have had any lunch )): so thankyou, knight in shining armour! :D
(although the ic started calling him my boyfriend after that. tskk, you've gotta be kidding me! but i'm still really really thankful nonetheless!)

'cause we have an awesome God.
Randomly looking at people's Twitter profiles, randomly clicking on the links to their blogs and I came across this post.
Every second is God’s good gift to us, no matter what we are
experiencing at any one point. Sure, there’re ups and pretty low downs…
But i guess if we keep our eyes fixed on God, on His love, His plan, His
mercy, His power, His goodness, basically everything about Him, we’d be
a whole lot better off :) sometimes things just don’t go the way you
expect them to and yeah we get knocked off our feet sometimes… But He is
always there to help us up everytime we stumble, fall or wander off
track.
I find that if i try to look at things from a perspective that
acknowledges God in every circumstance, things seem a lot brighter even
though they can get pretty dull at times. It’s just… God. He turns the
ordinary into extraordinary, broken into beautiful. That’s just who He
is :) words can’t even describe how thankful and happy i am to know that
He loves me. It doesn’t mean that everything will turn out the way i
planned it to be, but it does mean that God will never put me through
anything that will harm me. Never. I do believe that. It’s like God has
totally proved His faithfulness to me in ways i can’t seem to pen down.
Sometimes we just need to be broken to be healed. Sometimes we just need
to be broken to be made whole again. Sometimes we just need to be
broken to experience God on a whole new level. One thing’s for sure, God
never wastes our pain. And He definitely fixes things, one way or
another. He’s like the super glue we all need in our lives :) best part:
He loves us so much even when we will never deserve it. It’s like when
we know how much we’ve failed, how hopeless, broken, full of shame,
pride, and the list can go on……………. basically how ‘bad’ we are, we can
have a better understanding of just how precious, how much that gift is
worth :)
i do not want to imagine my life without God. It would just be
scary and not worth living. It was when i had nothing left, literally no
strength, no courage, nothing left to live for that God just carried me
through. It was then God helped me to realize how much i need Him and
want Him in my life. No God, no me. Simple as that. In the words of
Corrinne May, “but what am I but a single breath that only You sustain.”
How true :)
i guess life won’t seem so hard and tiring if we trust God and know
that He will always provide :) take things one day at a time, trusting
and knowing that God will provide.

angels.
really so thankful for all the angels He has sent into my life
so touched that one rmbed what was going on and tried to help me prevent any shit from
happening even though we haven't exactly spoken in the past week, plus the fact that he actually went straight to the organizer; and another for always being there whenever I was feeling down. it's always a coincidence that a conversation starts whenever I'm angsty, really so thankful for the listening ear.
I couldn't have asked for more. to the two of you, thanks for always being there for me. and to the first angel, you don't know how grateful i am for what you did eventually. much love from me to you both! :)

Thanksgiving.
His mercies are really new every morning. Just so thankful for all the blessings bestowed upon me even though I'm so unworthy. 96%, seriously? Totally made my day! Let's hope this assignment and the test next week can pull my grade back up to a B+.
And I'm really really proud of people who know that they are deviant and yet have the courage to touch on that particular topic during a presentation; really warms my heart. Good job, Yen Ping! (':
I'm on a happiness streak, really. Was omw to tuition when my kid's mum texted me to say that he isn't feeling well and asked if i can come in tmr instead. And it so happened that my bus was just about to reach my house. Is God good? Yes He is. Without a single doubt.
Met the Sgoon people from ODAC just now to satisfy my cravings, bumped into Jasmine! I think Gwend wants to kill me right now tho teehee. Thanks for the ride home, Nian Deng! No more rendezvous at Gardens in the near future with him alrdy cause he's moving to hall. Sobz.
Meeting Gabriel and the 小瓜子 tmr! :D Uber last minute, but me like. Labels: HAPPY MEALS ARE FOR HAPPY GIRLS. LIKE JESSICA. ;D, ODAC is love (:, thank you Lord (:, UB.

Help Me Maybe?
We did it entirely by God's grace. Ever so thankful to Him for seeing me through everything life throws me :')
Wanted to post the photos we took today, but the only one I have isn't
really very nice haha. Shall wait for Olivia to upload 'em. Meanwhile,
y'all get to see a pretty photo of us in a pretty place!
Woke up after 8 hours of sleep, no idea what I'm gonna do now. Maybe I should just go back to sleep and wake up earlier tmr to do my readings after I'm done talking to my (non-biological) brother. Labels: thank you Lord (:, UB.

Swell satisfaction.
Ever so thankful, ever so grateful. His mercies are new every morning. I've always wanted an A for this module, but I never felt competent enough to be awarded an A. Especially since A is equivalent to 94%. It's seriously a dream come true. The swell satisfaction when you've attained what you've secretly longed for but thought you could never get; priceless.

In His time.
His timing is always perfect (:
Haven't felt so stressed for a long time. Okay maybe the only time I felt THIS stressed was on the eve of my double 3hour paper day during the A Levels.
I would probably attribute it to my fear of failure. Especially for Psych. I need to get at least a B-, I can't get any lower ): In terms of Socio Stats, I think it's more of the pressure to do well enough to attain a B+/A- overall that's causing me to feel this way. Doesn't help that the authors of the Stats textbook can't freaking write properly. I don't get why they have to lauch into a lengthy cheem explanation just to get their point across. >:(
Nonetheless, I'm thankful that He always sends people to comfort and cheer me up whenever I'm feeling down. (:
And I really really miss my girls. I miss all the daily hugs of reassurance from them, all the hugs to cheer me up, and all the just-for-fun hugs. Can't wait to see them after next week! Especially these 2 darlings! <3 Super happy that they're coming to SIM! UOL and UB respectively~
gosh look at the freaking eyebags caused by the A Levels -.-"
And I can't wait to pack my room after Finals too. It's a freaking warzone. Brought my MacBook back to eServ today to rectify the battery problem (and in a way prevent myself from watching shows before Friday) so I'm using my dad's old laptop, which doesn't exactly have a trackpad (cause Lenovo is annoying like that) and I usually connect one out of convenience. But now, the mouse is no where to be found. Partially ransacked my room but I guess the mouse really ran away. Along with my thumbdrive. So annoying. I can understand if the thumbdrive gets misplaced cause it's kinda small. But a mouse?!
Seriously can't wait for 11am on Friday. So many things that I wanna do, so many people to meet. I kept telling people 'after 27th April', so much so that I've forgotten who I'd agreed to meet. So if y'all forget to ask me again after Friday... Too bad.
Hyped up for Summer 2012 nowwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Esp after what just happened. :D
Super thankful, and I've learnt my lessons.
1. Karma is a freaking bitch.
2. Itchy fingers will never be in your favour.
Through it all, I really realized the importance of His timing. It always works out awesomely. Never doubt that. Yes, He might alrdy have arranged for the swop a long time ago. But honestly, it came at a time when I was feeling down, and trust me, the moment the swop was agreed upon, my spirits sky rocketed. No joke. So I'm gonna go to bed as a happy kid!
Meeting the BFF tmr! Just as well, I need someone to help maintain my sanity.
The best thing that has ever happened in Spring 2012 :) Labels: i love my friends :), thank you Lord (:, UB.

Essay miracle.
So. I knocked out last night after finishing one-third of my essay. Woke up to a rude shock this morning when I realized it was already 8:45am. Believe it or not, I was done in an hour. And I finished the entire essay, not only the draft. Mavis read through it and went, "How did you write so much in 1.5 hours?" Honestly, I don't know. But no matter what, thank you daddy God! (:
And it's been confirmed that I work better under pressure. For 2 journal assignments that I did at the eleventh hour, I had an A grade. Same goes for my Mid Term essay. A freaking A grade. Compare and contrast with the other journals and take-home essays? B. Maybe I should just do all my work at the eleventh hour, seriously -.-"
Oh anw, I have totally no idea what to write for the note. Esp since it's going through S. If it's direct, maybe I'd have stuff to talk about. I can't exactly include all the inside-jokes and all. I mean, yes I can cause no one's gonna judge me. But still...
Anyhow, I'm still quite glad S asked me. Truth be told, I was kinda shocked and surprised to receive the FB message. Ahh but who cares; even if she sent it to a gazillion other people, I'm still happy that I'm remembered. :)
Btw I cooked pasta for dinner. Waaaay too much pasta, too little sauce. Sigh, my life sucks like that. Oh but yay, I have a ready stash of food at home now! In preparation for next week. I'm gonna stay at home like a good girl. Plus, I need to save money too uh. Can't wait for next Friday, next Saturday and the following Saturday! :D :D :D :D :D :D
Oh and yeah. Pinned up my fringe for the first time this semester; do I really look that different? Mavis was trying to locate me among the crowd in the canteen but failed, and she said, "I think I couldn't find you at first cause you look different today."
Huh, really meh D:
Okay, back to Socio research paper. For now. Labels: thank you Lord (:, UB.

Blessings From Above.
Everything in UB has seriously been a blessing.
A buddy I see every single day for lessons, a buddy to
accompany me on the long journey home, a buddy to entertain all my rubbish, and
a buddy who lives near me.
An OG that I have lunch with almost everyday, OG mates who
entertain me via Whatsapp, OG mates who really liven up my day with all their
rubbish.
Buddies for lessons, who coincidentally happened to be the
people who sat next to me for Enrollment, buddies I could actually talk to
about anything under the Sun and not just about work.
An OGL who I would say’s uber motherly, [yeah she’s our OG
mummy but that doesn’t mean that her care and concern extends all the way] an
OGL who helped me to get ALL my textbooks for the semester, an OGL I know I can
turn to if I need advice, an OGL I know I can turn to if I need someone to talk
to.
Nice seniors who smile and say hi when they see you around
school, nice seniors who are ever ready to offer advice, nice seniors who make
you feel welcomed in school. Oh and an eye-candy I see around school
occasionally! [HAHAHA sorry I couldn’t resist adding that in.]
Honestly, I never expected a single of the above mentioned things when I
started school.
Really, I look at this list and I’m filled with immense
gratitude.
And I know, it's all His work. Thank you daddy God :)

wonders.
I guess we all have different perspectives towards life, and we have different opinions about how things in life should be.
I chanced upon something a while back, and I can't help but be awed by His awesome power.
Yes, we face many setbacks in life, things somehow refuse to go our way. It's true that these setbacks are His way of telling us that He has a greater plan in stall for us.
With the advancements etc and all the scientific stuff and what not, it's freaking easy to believe that a God doesn't exist. But y'know what, just take a while to ponder and reflect on your own life, each and everything that has happened to you.
Yes I know some of you might say it's stupid to believe that there's a God when you hear of all the calamities etc worldwide. But y'know what? Let's face it. The world isn't fair. Hardworking people fail, slackers get a tinge of luck at the end and make it big. I know the feeling of being the former, and yes it stinks. Is there anything we can do about it? Yes, and that's to carry on with life. Stopping by the road shoulder to weep and wallow in self-pity ain't gonna alleviate the issue.
Honestly, we're all myopic in our own way. I remember this quote from my Lit text in Sec One: what you lose on the swings, you gain on the roundabouts.
Whenever one door closes, a gazillion others open. At the end of the day, you still receive what you want, just in another packaging. Although sadly, we immerse ourselves in sorrow and self-pity whenever we don't get what we want that we fail to recognize the provisions. I know I'm guilty of that.
Idk. Of late, I'm just overwhelmed by all the blessings bestowed upon me.
There're actually a gazillion things to be thankful for: the shelter we have over our heads, the air we breathe, the security enjoyed in Singapore, the people around us, and even the ability to wake up and tell yourself that you have another day to live.
It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. The setbacks make us who we are today. Yup, success and failure is never final.
If we're able to look beyond the imperfections of life, trust me; you'll realize that there are many things to be thankful for.
Yes, everything happens for a reason. I wish life was fair. But I guess the unfairness enables us to be more appreciative of what we have at present.
Dear God,
Thank you for EVERYTHING. And for just being there no matter what; thanks for being someone I know I can count on no matter what I go through.
xoxo, Jessica

reality.
All of I sudden, I realized what I was missing out on. I guess I didn't realize it previously because I didn't realize how nice it was.
Honestly, I don't know what triggered the emotional outburst yesterday. All it took was a comment and a reply, and all of a sudden, I realized what I was missing out on. The link btw both is very fine. I honestly have no idea what led to it. Flashbacks maybe? Plus what happened yst. First time in at least 7 months, I kinda forgot how these times actually felt like.
I prolly felt okay cause there wasn't any basis for comparison previously. Last night, I came to a stark realization that there were actually other people who filled that void. Honestly, I didn't realize how close they were to actually being surrogates.
They encouraged, motivated, scolded, nagged and comforted. And they knew when I needed to see them when I was really down. It's just like what I envisioned almost everyone fulfilling the role would. I don't know why I didn't realize this earlier on. But last night, I was truly filled with immense gratitude. Actually, I really wished the actual people would do the same. Aren't they kinda supposed to?
I guess I'm thankful. Thankful to the 2 of them; thankful to Him for finding me surrogates to walk me through that phase of my life when He knew the actual ones wouldn't. Really, can you deny His awesomeness?
When I grow up, I promise this will not happen to my kids. Cross my heart and swear to die if I lie. I know how it feels like. And I know that it's prolly the last thing anyone wants to experience. Yup you won't really know the magnitude because you never experienced it. But when you look back and think of how things would actually be, you realize that boy, you're missing out on a hell lot of things. Love, warmth, care and concern: 4 important ingredients to get anyone through a tough period. And it wouldn't be complete without the input of the 2 most important people in our lives.
Sigh, as much as I'm grateful for the 2 of them, I can't help but wish that the originals fulfilled their role. I'm guessing my life would be way better than it is now. Even up till now, I can't stop the tears whenever I think about it. If there's smth I really hate in life, its this. Oh wells.Labels: i'll never be able to fully comprehend., rants., thank you Lord (:

angels sent from heaven.
(random photo again; what's new?) I feel like blessedgirl92.
Incident #1 Attempted cabbing down to church after work (I left work only 1.5hours after rehearsal started) and when I gave up and started walking into the train station, a cab came. It was the $5-flag-down-fee cab, but I didn't really care. I didn't wanna risk taking the bus & train, only to reach when it was about to end.
Incident #2 Halfway through the journey, the driver told me, "later you just pay me $10 will do, I made a wrong turn." At that point in time, the meter was alr at $11.30 and we were nowhere near Sin Ming. Reached church, the meter read $14.60; driver insisted I pay only $10. Took out $50 and he was complaining that he didn't have any change. Offered to pay by NETS; nope cannot. Counted his change and guess what; exactly $40. And that was all the change he had; the rest were $50 notes.
Rehearsal was retarded as usual; improv was awesome. Kept my spirits high :)
Incident #3 Wanted to cab home since we ended around 11pm and I was really tired. Walked out with some people, Uncle EngPoh offered to drop me off at the mrt station or smth. Accepted the offer immediately; he said he'd pass by some Circle Line station along the way so he'll drop me off there. Uber convenient, why not. Guess what, the route he was taking was the exact same route to my house. In the end he dropped me off at the bus stop opposite my house.
Honestly, I couldn't have asked for more. I feel uber blessed to have crossed paths with angels today; I feel more blessed by the fact that I know they were sent by Him. :) Work ended off damn badly cause I was trying to talk sense into a customer and my colleagues said I sounded damn angry. Well yes, its not our fault if you don't know how to fill up the recontract form. Okay the person you liaised with didn't get back to you, but how on earth do you expect us to give you the recontract if you haven't filled in the bloody damn form? He still has the cheek to tell me the forms are still with him after at least 5 freaking months. What the heck is wrong seriously?! I spent uber long trying to talk sense into him.
Heading back tmr morning to clear my stuff before I leave; and honestly, I wish I didn't have to cause I still have to rush down to church at noon urgh. Sigh. But aye, a week off from work's the best gift anyone can ever give me now. And oh did I mention, we can finally claim OT again! Awesome possum :D
That aside, I'm looking forward to tmr night's musical. I'm only a calafare (sp?) plus props, but honestly like what Viking said just now; we can all see God's hand at work throughout the preparation and rehearsals.
Goodnight everyone! :)Labels: its a good day., thank you Lord (:

Hey J, if you're reading this, thank you.
Thanks for reminding me about my devotion, I think I've parked it in a far away corner and I actually forgot about it (wth right, I knowww).
Honestly, I'm thankful for people like J who constantly reminds me of His presence and dwelling amongst us.
Love you dear! <3
P.S weren't we supposed to meet up ages ago? haha our next time after Sentosa never came ):

revelation.
Note to self: What's done is done; it's time to face up to reality.
Ah but yeah, I'll move on after results day. If it's bad, a large part of me has decided to take the papers again as a private candidate. Last resort. I don't think I wanna go back to school. If I can, that is. But I don't want the stress and all that being a school candidate brings. Once was enough, the thought of going through all of it again's really a turn-off, really. Besides, it sucks that so many bloody people know me. Oh wells.
Can MOE please just announce when they're gonna release the results? And put me out of my misery. Bleah. After realizing how close the day is, I've been having nightmares about THE day. Once, I dreamt I received my Chinese SCRIPT back. Don't ask me why. Another time, I dreamt I failed HISTORY. Like ZOMG. I'll cry if I do, cross my heart and hope to die if I tell a lie.
Oh well, I guess only time will tell.
And I'm glad He kinda calmed me down alot, through the people around me. Thank you, Daddy God! <3Labels: thank you Lord (:

sesame street.
One more paper till the end, I honestly can't wait. The post A's plans are seriously a gazillion times more interesting than what I'm studying now. After 11am on 26th November, I'm gonna look for a job, clear my room, catch up with Happy Bitches, meet up with Marcia before she leaves for Australia, visit the beach, get a nice tan, go kite flying with Miss Liu and some other ODACians, head to Timbre with Vanessa, shop, head to the movies, and the list goes on.
Cleared my locker today with the exception of class stuff. I guess I'll just throw them into the bin after Friday.
Honestly, I don't really care how my Econs papers were. Ignorance is bliss. All I know is that I did try my best. For once, I knew what to write for more than one question, for once I asked for more paper THRICE, for once I didn't finish my paper due to time constraints and not due to a lack of content. So yeah, I feel that its been a personal achievement on my part, along with His help! :D Oh, and I feel damn dumb. When I handed up my script, the invigilator told me to pass the unused paper to the front. Thank goodness Sadiq flipped through, because ONE PAGE OF MY ANSWERS WAS THERE. Omg, I'd have died otherwise, seriously. Thanks Sadiq, you're my lifesaver! :D
And, this really proved to me His presence during this period. It happened once on the eve of History&Math, and once again before my Econs Paper 2. I know I couldn't have done it all without you. Love you loads, daddy God! (: Its through incidents like these that I'm comforted, knowing that You'll see me through the future, even though it seems bleak at the moment.Labels: school (:, thank you Lord (:

with a grateful heart.
Idk if its just me, but I somehow feel more relaxed as compared to the first week of the A's. I guess its cause the papers are more spaced out now. Which is a good thing.
3 papers to go, and honestly, its been a tough ride. And I know I couldn't have survived it all alone.
I'm grateful to have History and Lit tutors who'd see you on Saturday for consults, and entertain your queries on Sunday, when the paper is on Monday; I'm grateful for friends who'd cheer you up after knowing that the paper was a disappointment; I'm grateful for people who'd chase me to sleep early before my paper, knowing that I'd most probably sleep only after finishing my revision; I'm grateful for friends who'd comfort and offer reassuring hugs whenever you look stressed or feel as if there's no hope; I'm grateful for friends who offer you tissue and try to make you feel better after you burst into tears all of a sudden; I'm grateful for friends who'd text to make sure you're alright after knowing you cried on the eve of Math&History; I'm glad for friends who'd offer a listening ear to your problems; I'm thankful for friends who'd forward devotional material/send you encouraging verses to remind you to hope and trust in the Lord; I'm glad to have people who'd nag at you after realizing you went for 6 hours worth of papers with only 2.5 hours of sleep the night before & constantly chase you to sleep that night; I'm grateful for people who'd scold/chide me after knowing that I have an intention to retake my A's next year; I'm grateful for friends who make me laugh and forget how bad the paper was afterwards; I'm glad that I have teachers who remind me not to let the sucky papers that had already passed affect my morale for the remaining papers; I'm glad to have people around you who trust that you'll cross the obstacle with ease and believe in your eventual triumph; and last but definitely not the least, I'M GLAD TO HAVE A GOD WHO'S ALWAYS THERE NO MATTER WHAT; A GOD WHO PUTS MEANINGFUL SONG LYRICS INTO MY HEAD TO REMIND ME OF HIS PRESENCE IN MY LIFE; A GOD WHO PUTS AND USES DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE TO CHEER ME UP AND ENCOURAGE ME ALONG THE WAY. ((: thank you Lord!
In no order of merit, thanks Jermaine, Regina, Vanessa Chee, Vanessa Lim, Michelle, Charmaine, Caprina, YunJia, JunHao, Grace, Gran, JunJie, JunZhe, Peter, Serene, Jocelyn, Haizer, Rahul, Nurul, Reese, Gillian, Mr Edson Ng, Miss Liu & Mr Ong ((: (I've a feeling I missed people out but I somehow can't rmb who. )
Jermaine; if anyone deserves top place for seeing me through, you'd be one of those vying for the position. Thanks for accompanying me for History consultation on Saturday night although you had nothing to ask WOWS; thanks for all the entertainment be it intentional or unintentional; thanks for calming me down before my papers; thanks for being so forthcoming with all the help, encouragement and assistance whenever I needed help; thanks for just being Jermaine. (:
Regina; you're another one I know I can't survive without. Thanks for waking up super early just to wake me up even though you don't have to go to school; thanks for all the encouragement; thanks for letting me rant all my frustrations after a sucky paper; thanks for always being there for me! ♥
And, I'm super duper ultra mega sorry I almost forgot your birthday in the midst of the A Levels. Plus it was on my worst day ever. I'll make it up after you come back from Yangshuo! ((:
X; thanks for everything. Thanks for inquiring about my progress; thanks for the concern; thanks for cheering me up; thanks for believing; thanks for the 'nagging'.

hope in the distance.
Found something in my inbox. Aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that, “the past.” Live every day one day at a time and remember that only God knows our future and that he will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings, but look to the doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Wait, be still and patient, keep God first and everything else will follow. grace.
My wallet's safe and sound now, contents are all in check EXCEPT my cash. $82, wth. $72 from 2A05's order of the Will Run Tees; $10 from class fund. Haizer passed me the cash that very morning ): In spite of that, I'm thankful that I removed all the class fund money from my wallet the night before I dropped it.
And I realized that as weird as it may seem, the first thought that came to my mind when I realised I dropped my wallet wasn't about the cash, but more of the photos, polaroid shots, notes and cards; things that have sentimental value, something irreplaceable by material wealth. Now that I got them back safely, I'm more than thankful. (: Honestly, I'd rather lose $82 than all the cards, notes and pictures.
There're 3 groups of people. 1. Good people who'd return the wallet the way they found it. 2. Normal people who'd remove the cash and return the contents. 3. Horrible people who'd remove the contents and throw the wallet away.
Just thank God.
- W
Y'know what, I can't agree more.
I just can't help but feel super blessed to get my wallet back, and to have a mum who'd be willing to google the location, search for directions and go down to the place to collect the wallet on my behalf cause I had school.
Dear God, thank you for blessing me with such awesome people ((:Labels: thank you Lord (:
